2009 CARE Conference

Empirical Methods in Capital Markets-Based Accounting Research
Singapore | May 14-15, 2009

2008 marked a time of great change for our capital markets, and 2009 promises to hold yet more change as the US and the World faces not only a recession but changes in financial regulation.  In light of the speed and impact of the changes, the Center for Accounting Research and Education has postponed our annual financial statement analysis and valuation conference until April 2010. We hope this will give the market time to cool, and offer researchers time to evaluate the effects of these changes.

This year, in conjunction with the National University of Singapore, CARE hosts our first Pacific Rim conference on May 14-15.  The primary aims of this conference are to provide an opportunity for younger faculty to develop new research ideas and to provide a constructive critique of extant research methods in capital markets-based accounting research.
