The virtual 2025 ASW Conference was held September 24-25, 2025, coinciding with the Sustainable Investment Forum, North America (SINVNA), in conjunction with the United Nations Environmental Program Finance Initiative (UNEP-FI) during New York Climate Week. The conference includes plenary speeches, panel discussions, and contributed talks.
Now in its 5th year, the 2025 ASW Conference, as the flagship event of Accountability in a Sustainable World Quarterly, continues to ask the hard questions and delve deeper into regulation, sustainability reporting, capital allocation, and performance metrics. The conference focused on the changing sustainability reporting landscape, the continued politicization of ESG, accounting for sustainability with a particular emphasis on carbon accounting, measurement and assurance, performance metrics, the corporate focus on sustainability, the effects of carbon footprint information on consumer choice, and thoughts from a younger generation. A main feature of the conference is the discourse between academics and non-academics, featuring high-profile, well-informed, often provocative speakers.
